Is it gimmicky? I suppose. But, really, how else ought one to structure a poem to the god of beginnings and endings?
Lord of beginnings,
I ask of you,
To bless my undertakings,
Those which are new-begun,
Those which are lately-done,
To bless my journeyings,
I pray to you,
Lord of endings.
Dominus initia,
Te rogo,
Labores beare,
Illos orditum nove,
Illos absolutum modo,
Itineres beare,
Te precor,
Dominus fenes.
