I meant to post this up ages ago. You know, in the middle of summer, not August. August is an awful month - there's just nothing I can say about it. It's the dullest month of the year, and that's a fact. But you know what? Ice cream makes even August better. Especially Klondike bars.

Prayers to the Roman Gods: Pluto
Poor Pluto. First Disney makes him into a villain, then he loses his planet. He just gets no respect. I bet he cries himself to sleep every night, with his gold pajamas and all.
The Seven Wonders: The Lighthouse of Alexandria
And so begins a new series! I'm still working on the Roman gods, but I had this idea and thought it would be interesting, so I'm doing it at the same time.
I don't plan on all of this series ending with some pithy moral; it'll be more like telling a story about the wonders. But that last line worked particularly well, I think.

Prayers to the Roman Gods: Juno
Juno, protector of women! I felt rather weird writing this one - I'm hardly in her domain, am I? Still, I do hope it came out well.
Prayers to the Roman Gods: Bacchus
Honestly, I prefer my Hymn to Bacchus to this. Much easier to sing when drinking, in my opinion.
Prayers to the Roman Gods: Diana
I really need to try harder to update as soon as I get these done. Anyway, here's the noble huntress and lady of the moon herself, Diana, better known as Artemis!

An Apology for Writer's Block
It's really quite inexcusable - this writer's block is most detestable!

Prayers to the Roman Gods: Mars
In all honesty, not my favourite god. I prefer less... well, less martial divinities, you know?
Prayers to the Roman Gods: Ceres
One distinction between how we think of nature and how the Romans thought of it, is that we only have Mother Nature, while the Romans had Terra (or Tellus) and Ceres, who represented different aspects of what we call the natural world. So as Ceres is more focused towards agriculture - 'developed' nature, if you will - I made her prayer something you might expect a farmer to say.
Nolo Terram Incendere
Surprisingly enough, I didn't translate this one because I like Fallout. It's because it was the next song with words on my playlist in Winamp. And it was on my playlist in the first place... because I like Fallout.
Doctoris Oratio ab "Linea Plana"
I have to admit, this is one Doctor you don't want to have angry at you. He's got a lot of repressed anger, hasn't he?

Prayers to the Roman Gods: Minerva
I'd say that Minerva was one of my favourite gods, but given that last time the gods had a popularity contest a war started...

At the Gala - Dead Money Edition
I had the idea for this while rewatching FiMFlamFilosophy's Let's Play of Fallout: New Vegas, and figured I might as well do it. Original song by Daniel Ingram et al., Dead Money © Bethesda, etc., etc.

Excerptum ab 'Honor Reginae'
Just a bit of Latin practice I did over the weekend. Got it from the front of the book in question (Honor of the Queen, by David Weber), actually.
